View of Trattoria Delia from the entrance with festive lights and guests at tables and the bar

One of Burlington’s most beloved restaurants, Trattoria Delia has invited guests to enjoy authentic, expertly prepared Italian cuisine, warm hospitality, and smart, attentive service for over 24 years. The restaurant is located in the historic Vermont House, originally a turn of the century hotel. The restaurant interior was once a working sugar house that was relocated from New Hampshire. The room's focal point is a large fireplace, made from local Panton stone.

Our menu explores an Italian culinary tradition that celebrates fresh seasonal ingredients from the local countryside, bringing them together with care and imagination in rustic, yet graceful dishes. We support a community of farmers, who together bring the freshest locally grown food to our restaurant’s tables. Our farm partnerships help secure the future of vibrant, diversified agriculture, preserve the landscape and strengthen Vermont farms. Our extensive wine list, representing exclusively Italian selections with a special emphasis on organic, biodynamic and farmer-made selections, has been recognized by Wine Spectator since 1995 and Wine Enthusiast since 2004.

Established in 1993 by the Delia family, Trattoria Delia is now led by Leslie Wells and John Rao, founders of neighboring Pizzera Verità and long-time friends and colleagues of Tom and Lori Delia. Like Trattoria Delia, Pizzeria Verità has authenticity at its core, serving traditional Neapolitan pizzas baked in an imported Acunto oven. Together with their sister restaurant, the wine bar Sotto Enoteca, the restaurants offer a true Italian gastronomic voyage, without ever leaving Vermont.
